Alternative medicine is understood to mean therapies that are presented as an option to conventional or western medical treatments.  Alternative medicine is the medicine of many different names.  The term is founded upon the idea of bringing harmony to the spirit, body and mind through alternative healing strategies.  Alternative medicine is the study and practice of how the body heals itself.  Alternative medicine is the practice of alternative healing using nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, supplements and other forms of natural health care.

 

The con of Alternative Medicine.
Complementary and alternative medicine lacks both a research tradition and a research infrastructure and does not have experienced researchers.  Also, complementary and alternative medicine is not cheap.

 

But the problem is not in those remedies themselves, but rather in the way people use them to address their health challenges. Whatever the case, people have the right to explore these other possible treatments at a time when health care is, for far too many Americans, a luxury.

 

The con of Conventional Medicine.
But then with conventional medicine, prescription drugs only mask the symptoms of disease, they don't actually resolve any health problems whatsoever. Hence, Complementary and alternative medicine is under the spotlight. The usage of alernative healing methods has grown rapidly over the last two decades and is now used by around six million people a year.
